Archaeological Park of the Colosseum
The archaeological park inside includes: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill, the Arch of Constantine, the Domus Aurea and the Auditoria of Hadrian. The most important monuments and sites of ancient Rome cannot be missed
Navona Square
Piazza Navona is one of the most famous squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family at the behest of Pope Innocent X (Giovanni Battista Pamphili) built on the perimeter of the ancient Stadium of Domitian, host of the stupendous works of Borromini and Bernini.
Pantheon
The Pantheon is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings in Rome and was built in 27 BC by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the gods. It was later rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian in AD 120. Since the 7th century, it has been used as a church dedicated to “St. Mary and the Martyrs”
Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is the largest and most famous of Rome's fountains. Built on the facade of Palazzo Poli by Nicola Salvi, its theme is the sea with the statue of the Ocean God in the center. There are two customs to do: throwing a coin behind you in the fountain and it will bring you luck and you will desire to return to Rome and for lovers on the right side of the Trevi Fountain is the Fountain of Lovers, drink the water to be together forever.
Bocca della Verità
The Bocca della Verità is an ancient marble mask, one of the most famous symbols of Rome, probably a manhole cover from the Roman era, it has been located in the pronaos of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin since 1632. According to legend, the Bocca della Verità would have the ability to bite the hand of anyone who told a lie by inserting it into his mouth.
Campo de' Fiori
Campo de' Fiori is the only historic square in Rome where there is no church but it is one of the most picturesque and lively squares in Rome, the statue of Giordano Bruno stands out in the center of the square, every day except Sunday there is a colorful and lively fruit and vegetable market and at night thanks to the presence of various clubs and pubs it is one of the favorite destinations for both Italian and foreign young people.
Castel Sant'Angelo
The Mausoleum of Hadrian is commonly known as Castel Sant'Angelo. It was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself, then later used by popes as a fortress and castle, and is now a museum. Connected to the Vatican State through the fortified corridor of the "passetto", Castel Sant'Angelo embodies in the solemn Roman spaces, in the mighty walls, in the sumptuous frescoed rooms, the vicissitudes of the Eternal City where past and present appear inextricably linked.
Spanish Steps and Pincio hill
The Spanish Steps connect Piazza di Spagna and the Pincio hill. Built in travertine, it is easily reachable on foot or with the Metro B stop P.zza di Spagna and is the ideal point for enjoying or shopping for the most prestigious fashion brands that can be found in the square and in the streets that start from it as via Condotti, or go up and see the stupendous and majestic Villa Borghese or even a splendid view of Rome from the Pincio.
Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums
No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with its frescoes by Michelangelo. The Vatican Museums host a collection of around 70,000 works collected by the Catholic Church and the papacy over the centuries including some of the most important Roman sculptures and Renaissance paintings. The sculptures, architecture and artwork are just amazing.
